Yuta is a member of NCT 127, SM Entertainment's Seoul-based sub-unit of NCT that debuted on July 7, 2016. Recruited through the SM Global Audition in Osaka, Japan, he was part of the group's original seven-member lineup. As an SM Rookies trainee, he appeared in the Mnet reality show Exo 90:2014 alongside future bandmates. NCT 127 has since released the full album Walk in July 2024 and K-POP ScreaM 2 in April 2025.
