Taeyong is a member of NCT 127, the Seoul-based sub-unit of NCT managed by SM Entertainment, debuting with the group on July 7, 2016 as part of its original seven-member lineup. Originally introduced through SM Rookies after joining the label in 2012, he had pre-debut activities including a music video for "Open the Door" and a feature on Red Velvet's single "Be Natural" (credited as SR14B's Taeyong) in 2014. He previously debuted as a member of NCT U.
