Taeyeon is a member of Girls' Generation, the eight-piece South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment. She was cast into SM's training system in 2004 after winning first place in the S.M. Youth Singing Competition and serves as the group's leader. Girls' Generation debuted on August 5, 2007, and has released seven Korean studio albums. The seventh, Forever 1, arrived in August 2022 following a five-year hiatus, and the group followed with the single K-POP ScreaM 1 in December 2024.
