Jihyo is a member of the South Korean girl group Twice, formed by JYP Entertainment. She was a JYPE trainee and a rumored member of the tentative group 6MIX before being selected as one of the original seven members of Twice through the Mnet survival show Sixteen (2015), debuting on October 20, 2015. She co-wrote the track "Eye Eye Eyes" from Twice's fourth EP Signal (2017) with fellow member Chaeyoung.
