Shownu is a member of South Korean boy group Monsta X, which debuted on May 14, 2015 after forming through Starship Entertainment's No.Mercy survival program. He was selected as one of the seven founding members during the competition. The group, known for combining hip-hop, EDM, and pop, peaked at number five on the US Billboard 200 with their 2020 English album All About Luv. Monsta X's most recent full album, Unfold, was released in April 2026.
