JiU is a member of Dreamcatcher, a South Korean girl group under Dreamcatcher Company. She was part of the group's predecessor lineup, MINX, before the band re-debuted under the Dreamcatcher name on January 13, 2017. That year, she placed in the top nine on the JTBC survival show Mix Nine. Dreamcatcher, sometimes called "The Face of Rock in K-pop," continued releasing music through 2023 and 2024, including mini albums [VillainS] and [VirtuouS].
