Jaemin is a member of NCT Dream under SM Entertainment who was street-cast by SM staff while doing volunteer work and was previously part of the pre-debut team SM Rookies. He debuted with NCT Dream as one of its original seven members in August 2016, though he did not participate in the group's 2017 single album The First due to a herniated disc injury.
