Il gruppo composto da cinque membri ha debuttato il 4 marzo 2019 sotto Big Hit Entertainment (HYBE), costruendo la propria discografia attorno a una narrativa di crescita adolescenziale — un racconto di "boyhood" — con brani come "Crown," "Blue Hour," e "Sugar Rush Ride."
