Where Does Hop (Hiptape) Sit in Stray Kids' Discography?

The release that came between Ate and Mixtape: Dominate

2026-10-10

Stray Kids' Hop, sold physically as the limited Hiptape edition, arrived on December 13, 2024 — after the EP Ate and before the single album Mixtape: Dominate.

A reader asked us which two albums frame Hop, the Stray Kids release many fans know by its limited physical edition name, Hiptape. The short answer: in the group's Korean-language discography it sits between the EP Ate (July 19, 2024) and the single album Mixtape: Dominate (March 21, 2025).

What "Hiptape" actually is

Hiptape is not a separate album. It is the limited physical edition of Hop (Korean: 合), Stray Kids' first mixtape, released on December 13, 2024 through JYP Entertainment and Republic Records. The full physical title reads SKZHOP HIPTAPE "合 (Hop)", and the release shipped in several packagings: Hiptape (limited edition), SKZhop and Accordion (standard editions), plus a Nemo platform version in South Korea. The lead single, "Walkin on Water", came out the same day.

The two neighbours

Looking only at Korean releases, the order around Hop is:

  • Ate — EP, July 19, 2024
  • Hop (Hiptape) — mixtape, December 13, 2024
  • Mixtape: Dominate — single album, March 21, 2025

So the answer to the question "between which two albums did Hiptape appear?" is Ate and Mixtape: Dominate.

If you count the Japanese releases too

Stray Kids also release in Japan through Epic Records Japan, and one of those sits inside the gap above. Giant, their Japanese studio album, came out on November 13, 2024 — about a month before Hop. Counting every release regardless of language, the sequence becomes Ate → Giant → Hop → Mixtape: Dominate. That is why some discographies list Giant as the album directly before Hop.

What came after

The releases that followed in 2025 were the studio album Karma (August 22, 2025) and the mixtape Do It (November 21, 2025), which continued the "SKZ tape" line Hop started.
