BTS: Discography & Career Overview

2026-06-19

A chronological look at BTS's releases, lineup, and activity — grounded in verified release data.

BTS — comprising seven members: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook — debuted under Big Hit Entertainment on June 12, 2013, accompanied by the formation of their fandom, A.R.M.Y. Over the years that followed, the group built one of the more expansive catalogues in K-pop, progressing from early single and mini-album releases into full-length studio projects, conceptual multi-part series, and repackages. Their discography now spans more than a decade of continuous output, with the group remaining active as of 2026.

Debut & Early Releases

BTS launched their recording career with the single album 2 Cool 4 Skool on June 12, 2013, led by the title track "No More Dream." Later that same year, on September 11, they released their first mini-album, O!RUL8,2?, fronted by "N.O." The pace carried into 2014: the mini-album Skool Luv Affair followed on February 1, and the group's first full-length studio album, Dark & Wild (title track: "Danger"), arrived on August 1. A second full-length, Wake Up, concluded the year in December 2014 — a debut stretch in which BTS delivered five releases across roughly eighteen months.

The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Series

In 2015, BTS introduced an extended thematic thread with the mini-album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1, led by "I Need U," followed by its companion The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2 on November 1, 2015. The arc continued into 2016 with The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever, a full-length release on May 2, 2016, featuring the title track "Epilogue: Young Forever." Also that year, BTS issued the full-length Wings and another full-length, Youth, on September 1 — making 2016 one of the group's most release-dense stretches on record.

Love Yourself, Map of the Soul, and Recent Work

In 2018, BTS released Love Yourself: Tear, a full-length studio album, alongside the repackage Love Yourself: Answer — two entries continuing a phase of the discography defined by thematically linked titles. In 2020, the group followed with Map of the Soul: 7, their next full-length studio effort. Most recently, the 2026 full-length Arirang, led by the title track "Swim," stands as the group's latest studio addition. With all seven members on the current roster and BTS listed as an active group under Big Hit Entertainment, their catalogue remains in development.
